Registration Procedures in United Arab Emirates

Trademarks:

Period of protection: 

  • 10 years from the application filling date. 

Cancellation action: 

  • Non-use of the trademark within 5 years from the registration date. 

Requirements:  

  • Power of attorney duly notarized by the consulate of UAE. 
  • Certified copy of priority document (if priority is claimed).

Period of protection: 

  • 20 years from the application filling date. 

Requirements: 

  • Power of attorney duly notarized by the consulate of UAE. 
  • Certified copy of the priority document. (if the priority is claimed). 
  • Copy of certificate of incorporation or company commercial register extract.  
  • Deed of assignment (if the applicant is not the inventor) signed by both parties.
